Jatropha Alliance joins forces with ABPPM

The Associação Brasileira de Produtores de Pinhão Manso (ABPPM), the Brazilian Jatropha Growers Association, was formed to promote the interests of jatropha producers, and due to their common objectives, Thilo Zelt, President of the Jatropha Alliance, and Miku Lu, President of ABPPM, have signed a cooperation agreement. ABPPM is now the regional chapter of the Jatropha Alliance in Brazil, supporting the Alliance in building the awareness of the ecological, economic and social benefits of jatropha in Latin America.

Founded in 2007 in São Paulo, ABPPM has established close links with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Emprapa) for fostering research on jatropha as a sustainable feedstock. ABPPM furthermore promotes jatropha experience programmes by customising tailored tours to different plantations types. Amongst its members are: Curcas Diesel Brasil, Fuserman, JetBio, Saudibras and Bioauto.
